Hair Crush: Yara Shahidi

This week's Hair Crush is none other than the young, vibrant Yara Shahidi. This Black-ish co-star has certainly been turning heads since the show launched. Yara plays Zoey, the popular, socially savvy, and constantly "over-it" teenage daughter to Dre and Rainbow Johnson played by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross. Although Yara is quite the new-comer to the silver screen, she's had a killer 2016. She's been featured in Teen Vogue, Essence, and InStyle magazines over the last year, showing off her sense of style along with her quirky personality. Yara's not all about the looks, though.  She's also been recently recognized for delivering a powerful speech on the lack of representation of positive roles for African Americans in Hollywood. Talk about a triple threat! Black-ish has been going strong for three seasons now and doesn't show signs of slowing down. I think I speak for young women and girls of color everywhere when I say it was been a delight to watch Yara blossom in her career. We'll be on the look out for her to take on more influential roles both on and off-screen in the years to come, but in the meantime- Yara will continue to be a MAJOR Hair Crush.
